Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry at Cedar Valley Baptist Church is a strong group of men who believe in Jesus. One of the ways they maintain this strong fellowship is by meeting weekly Friday morning at Texas Grill in Bastrop at 7:00am. All men are welcome to join his morning fellowship.
Cedar Valley is committed to the Spiritual growth of families and individuals through engaging our community with the gospel, teaching and preaching of God’s Word, and participating in life-changing worship. If you are looking for a community of growing believers, please come be a part of our great fellowship with other believers during our Bible study hour with classes for all ages (Sunday morning at 10:00 AM). Our worship hour (Sunday morning at 11:00 AM) has uplifting music led by Sheree Bristoll, Music Director and powerful preaching by Rev. Steve Ponder.
Cedar Valley has evening services on Sunday (6:00 PM) and Wednesday (7:00 PM) evenings. Childcare is available at all services. We want to welcome everyone to come and be a part of all the life-changing activities at Cedar Valley Baptist Church!
Women’s Ministry (WINGS-Women In God’s Service)
WinGs (Women In God’s Service) is a service minded ladies group of all ages who seek to follow the leading of the Lord with projects throughout the year. We meet on the first and third Mondays of each month from 9:30 – 11:30am, usually in the fellowship hall of CVBC or occasionally at one of the ladies homes.
Some of our past projects have been:
In conjunction with other churches in the area, WinGs donates food, warm hats and other items for those in need in Bastrop County and Austin.
Cookbook – Our ladies published a cookbook titled “WinGs of Love Cookbook” as a fund raiser and includes many good recipes submitted by CVBC membership. Purchase of the “WinGs of Love Cookbook” helps fund our projects during the year. Feel free to contact our church office for details on purchasing a cookbook.
Our organization created a church newsletter (Cedar Valley Connection) which is published and mailed once a month. It’s purpose is to better inform members of our upcoming events and activities at CVBC. Our homebound members look forward to receiving it each month and knowing what is happening with their church family.
In cooperation with our Men’s Fellowship group, we purchased tables and chairs for the Austin Community Center as well as providing food for their pantry.
WinGs sponsors and conducts a Bible Study Series for the ladies of the church, and any guests they wish to invite, twice a year.
A few times a year we have a Fun Day – an outing to encourage and build fellowship. One such outing was to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center where we enjoyed touring and having lunch on the grounds.
We have workdays once a month (usually the third Monday meeting) for many of the items (such as hats and bags) given away in the name of our Lord, or for crafts to help other organizations and ministries in our church, such as VBS and Festival projects.
Come join us and see for yourself what WinGs is all about!
